Every single student at UIUC deserves to have an education and a learning environment that is equitable, affordable, accessible, and safe. For too long, colleges and universities such as ours have supported this idea in words, but not always in actions, and it is time for that to change. While I’m not naive about the role and limitations of the Illinois Student Council, I hope to serve as an engaged and accountable Representative for LAS, advocating for things such as affordable class materials, support for the humanities departments, expansion of Illinois Commitment and other vitally important scholarships, and more DRES and mental health services. These are all huge priorities that are impossible for one individual to handle or advocate, so I solicit your help! I also want to hear from you, what your concerns are, and how I can play my role in making Student Government more effective and accountable to student needs. I ask for your support and your vote!
