Ivy Wang

(She/Her)

My name is Ivy, and I am a junior majoring in accounting and data science. For the past two years, it's been a privilege for me to serve as a treasurer for a Registered Student Organization (RSO) on our campus. This experience has provided me valuable first-hand understanding of how to apply for funding and manage financial resources in an organization. Currently, I am actively serving my first semester on the SORF Board. Despite being new to this role, my commitment has allowed me to quickly familiarize the key aspects of the SORF considerations and guidelines. Through continuously learning and striving to fulfill the responsibilities effectively, I believe my dedication will position me as a solid candidate by the end of the semester. The main reason I am interested in pursuing another SORF board term is my desire to assist student organizations in obtaining funding. My good connections with treasurers across various cultural and service RSOs have made me aware of the multi-faceted challenges different groups encounter. I strongly believe RSOs foster diversity and empower students' personal and professional growth. By being part of SORF, I can help enable the success of these student clubs by ensuring the fair allocation of resource fees. I am passionate about building an environment where all kinds of student organizations can thrive and make positive impacts on our campus. While still having a lot to learn, I hope to contribute to enhancing the resources available to support the operations of student groups and facilitate clearer communication between student organizations and the school, fostering more collaboration and transparency.
