Welcome to the process of being a candidate for student governance here at UIUC. To get started, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Complete the Application for Candidacy

Ensure a smooth candidacy process by thoroughly reviewing the eligibility requirements, collecting necessary documents, and submitting your application before the deadline.

Step 2: Familiarize Yourself with the Election Timeline

Stay organized and avoid missing crucial deadlines by thoroughly understanding and marking key dates on the election timeline.

Step 3: Begin Campaigning

Create a campaign message and strategy to effectively connect with your fellow students and earn their support for the upcoming election.

Step 4: Vote in the Student Elections and Encourage Others to Vote!

Exercise your right to vote while actively promoting the significance of student participation to your peers and encouraging them to go out and vote.

CSEC Office Hours

Leading up to the Spring Student Elections, the CSEC will be hosting regular office hours to provide anyone interested the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, or get some insight into the election process. Office hours can be attended in-person or virtually. At the listed times beginning Monday, January 22nd and continuing through March 22nd anyone interested is free to join us using this Zoom link or by stopping by room 220 on the second floor of the University YMCA (1001 S. Wright Street). Cancellations will be noted on the CSEC Calendar. Office hours will be held on the following days:

  • Monday: 2:00-5:00 pm
  • Tuesday: NONE
  • Wednesday: 2:00-5:00 pm
  • Thursday: 9:00 am-12:00 pm
