As candidates for the positions of President and Vice President of the ISC, we, Carter Cohen and Viktoriya Dragnevska, are honored to present a vision for our campaign, embodying the spirit of collective action and diversity that we intend to bring to our leadership.

Carter, a Political Science student with a minor in Philosophy and Legal Studies, brings a passion for advocacy and a commitment to public service from his roots in San Diego. His dedication is evident in his involvement across UIUCs campus, from Professional Organizations to Illinois Athletics, where he learned the importance of dedication, time-management, and representing all voices.

Viktoriya, a first-generation Bulgarian-American majoring in Agricultural Consumer Economics with a minor in Legal Studies, represents the drive for policy and diplomacy. Her experience as a Representative for the College of ACES and on the Environmental Sustainability Committee showcases her commitment to positive change and equal opportunities for every student.

Together, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment at UIUC that supports students' growth as individuals and members of society. Our shared goals include:

  • Expanding Student Safety: Enhancing the Safe-Walk program with more vehicles and trained staff to ensure secure transportation options. Integrating mental health resources into safety initiatives, addressing the backlog of appointments, and ensuring timely support for all students.
  • Prioritizing Mental Health: Allocating funding to expand the availability of therapists and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of mental health services, making it a cornerstone of our campaign.
  • Enhancing Financial Resources: Adjusting the Illinois Promise Scholarship to accommodate economic shifts and provide low-income students with necessary funds to continue their education.
  • Environmental and Community Advocacy: Leveraging Viktoriya's experience to advocate for environmental sustainability and community engagement, ensuring that UIUC remains a beacon of positive change.

Our candidacy is not just about holding titles; it's about using our voice to advocate for the needs and concerns of UIUC students. We are committed to working collaboratively toward a more inclusive and empowered university experience. As we strive to serve diligently in our terms, we are motivated by the potential to transform our collective aspirations into tangible realities. Let's unite our voices and efforts to shape the future of UIUC together. Thank you for considering our unified candidacy. We look forward to the opportunity to serve and make a lasting impact on our university community.
