Colin Crook

(He/Him)

Hello! My name is Colin Crook. I am a current freshman and am seeking office in the Illinois Student Council. I currently major in Political Science and plan to add a History major and Secondary Education Minor. I have a passion for politics and student government so I would make for an active and passionate member of the Illinois Student Council. I also have a passion for music, theater, and education. This adds both some vibrancy to my life as well as a deeper connection to the student body. My primary focus for my time in office will be on maintaining and improving the academic life of UIUC Students as well as promoting and invigorating school pride and spirit. I am always open to new ideas and love to seek new perspectives on important issues facing the everyday lives of UIUC students. There are a few notable things that matter most to me. First, keeping student life fresh and exciting. Staying active in the community not only improves the mood and morale of students but often allows them to perform better academically. Second, ensuring the broader success of students academically. The university has lots of resources to help students find success in their learning. It’s important that, as students, we are able to take advantage of these vast resources. That said, the responsibility of success does not lie solely on the student. My goal is to promote and create programs to assist in the academic success of students at large. Last but not least, I also care for the sustainability of our campus and its programs both environmentally and economically. Maintaining important programs that the university offers is important for our futures and for many students to come.
