Throughout my life, I have always been inspired by Public Policy, by the power to make a difference by raising your voice and speaking up for others, especially those communities which are marginalized. This is what inspired me to run for Student Representative. One of the values that drives me the most is advocacy. I strive to be an advocate in any way that I can. This means striving for inclusivity in the University of Illinois, to the point where everyone feels represented by the Student Council. As part of my platform on inclusivity, I hope to raise awareness about the Illinois Student Council, and get more students involved in sharing their concerns and wishes to the council. I would do this by utilizing social media to connect to students on campus. I hope to add more transparency by informing students on what goes on within Student Council, and how they can advocate for the values that they believe in most. This also means reaffirming the safety that students feel on campus. There has been an unfortunate rise of discrimination in the recent past, and I am committed to making sure that this is thoroughly condemned on our campus. In my free time, I am also a part of Kappa Alpha Pi, the Illinois Undergraduate Law Review, and volunteer for Land of Lincoln Legal Aid.
