(He/Him)

I am an upcoming sophomore majoring in journalism at the College of Media. Since my first visit in spring 2022, I have wanted nothing more than to be a part of this college and its community. As one of the smallest colleges on campus, we often get overlooked and sometimes underutilized. As the ISC College of Media Representative, I hope to give the College of Media a greater voice in the Illinois Student Council. I aim to achieve this by engaging media students in sharing information and gathering their opinions on ISC's proposed plans, documents, and programs. I believe there are no better students to accomplish this than proud advertising (+CS), journalism, and cinema studies students in our college. As an aspiring journalist, my commitment is to research, verify, and present the truth and social issues to the public in hopes of inspiring change. As the College of Media Representative, my goal is to continue this commitment and propose legislation for the betterment and education of current and incoming students on campus. Having been a part of the many media-heavy RSOs on campus, I understand the goals, passions, and messages that many media students share and hope to open doors for my peers across campus. In addition, I hope to propose more collaborative efforts with different offices across the university for the betterment of students. Specifically, more opportunities for internship and resume workshops, hosting more philanthropic events, and working with offices such as OMSA and the Counseling Center to help students get needed resources that may be difficult to reach. I'm excited about the opportunity to represent the College of Media and contribute to positive change. I hope to demonstrate to ISC that, despite being a small college, we have a big impact on this university.
