Hayley Hoppock

(She/Her)

Hello, my name is Hayley Hoppock and am running for another term as a member of the SORF board. I am currently a Sophomore, majoring in Psychology and Sociology. I am an active member of several RSOs on campus including a social sorority and pre-law fraternity. With leadership positions in both of these, I have had the opportunity to work with members to improve mental health issues, resolve disputes, and help with recruitment. I understand the importance of connecting with people and what a valuable role RSOs play in students’ campus life, helping them make connections with peers on campus and establishing relationships that could last far beyond their time at U of I. Keeping RSOs running and giving all students the opportunity to find their community is the driving factor behind my involvement with SORF. In the last year I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the SORF board, reviewing applications for funding, advocating for RSOs in full board meetings, and meeting with members of RSOs one-on-one in my weekly office hours. It is a wonderful way to advocate and give a voice to the many RSOs on campus who use funding to better student’s lives and experiences on campus, as well as give students numerous opportunities to succeed, both academically and socially, here at the University of Illinois. I would be honored to have the opportunity to again serve on the board and thank you for your consideration of this position.
