I am Wesam Mohamed, an international Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. I would be honored to get your vote to be a graduate representative on the Illinois Student Council. I believe I am a strong candidate for the position. I have vast experience in student leadership. I was elected twice to serve for two years as the VP of Advocacy of my student union at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. I was also elected to serve for two years as the National Deputy Chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS). CFS represents over 550,000 students in post-secondary education. This includes graduate, undergraduate, domestic, and international students. With this experience, I will be able to represent the best interests of students on the ISC council. I will make sure that our voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process of ISC.
