Hello, my name is Jackson Pence, and I am choosing to run for student senate because I think it is very important for students to represent themselves on campus. The reason I chose to run is because of over the summer I took part in a program that was in Tunisia that went over social issues that lead me to want to get more involved in the campus community and deal with issues this campus may face. As well as being a political science major, I want to gain more experience in local government and serve the student body. I am also in the process of filling an empty senate seat and would like to continue serving in the senate next year.
