(She/Her)

Serving as a senator for the College of LAS during my sophomore year's spring semester was a transformative experience that ignited a passion for student advocacy within me. The opportunity to actively contribute to the betterment of the student community, collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds, was not only enriching but also a testament to the power of collective decision-making. Engaging in debates on various motions to represent my peers was a distinct honor and aligned seamlessly with my aspirations as a leader, both professionally and personally. As an Economics major with minors in Computer Science and Business, I am exploring the intersection of technology and business through a creative and technical lens. I aim to encompass a comprehensive understanding of the world and seek ways to make a positive impact in my community. Representing the College of LAS as a senator is a significant stride towards realizing this goal. My commitment extends beyond the academic realm, encompassing a genuine desire to address real-world issues affecting my peers. One of the core pillars of my platform is focused on tackling food insecurity on campus. Drawing from my experience at UCSC, where I successfully implemented a mobile pantry to distribute food to students, I recognized the root cause of food insecurity as an accessibility problem. While the mobile pantry was an immediate solution, I acknowledged its unidimensional nature and the need for a more sustainable, long-term fix. My vision for UIUC goes beyond replicating this project. Collaborating with fellow senators, I am confident that our collective efforts will lead to the realization of impactful ideas. Building on initiatives that were put into motion last year, such as advocating for affordable textbooks and promoting eco-friendly practices on campus, my goal is to contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable, and student-centric environment. The collaborative nature of student government allows for the synthesis of diverse perspectives, fostering innovation and comprehensive solutions. By actively involving my peers in the decision-making process, I aim to harness the collective wisdom of the student body to address pressing issues and implement positive change. My time as a senator would revolve around fostering an environment where every student's voice is heard and valued. In summary, my sophomore year as a senator has fueled my passion for leadership, driving me to apply for re-election. With a multidisciplinary academic background and a commitment to addressing real-world challenges, I am eager to continue the journey of making a meaningful impact at UIUC. Together with my fellow senators, I look forward to fostering positive change, ensuring that our university is a place where every student can thrive.
