Jack Vonderheide

(He/Him)

My name is Jack Vonderheide, I am from Teutopolis, Illinois, I am a first semester junior in Urban Planning, and I am running as an Illinois Student Council (ISC) Representative for the College of Fine and Applied Arts. I believe my prior experience as a Freshman Delegate on the Student Government Association at Lake Land College, my former college, and as a Student Representative for the Student Council at Teutopolis High School, my former high school, exceedingly qualify me for this position. I also believe, like ISC, that creating an enduring University of Illinois is achieved through student outreach and accurate representation. This means that every student is actively listened to and supported as they pursue their goals at this university. Above all, the Student Council has the responsibility to make all groups on campus feel safe and out of harm's way by coordinating with the administration. As a representative, I promise to work with other representatives and the administration to ensure that safety. To help students in their life after college, the Student Council and I believe in providing resources to students for more post-graduate opportunities. That means wider access to career essentials - like business wear - , to pre-professional organizations, and to events with potential employers. Additionally, the Student Council and I are committed to providing necessities and support to students in college. That means eliminating food insecurity on campus and providing adequate housing to all. Lastly, we have the responsibility to create a socially active campus; one where anyone can partake at their own discretion. As a representative, I promise to be open to conversation with the numerous organizations on campus and actively voice their opinions in ISC meetings. With your support, we can ensure these opportunities to all students. Vote Vonderheide for ISC Representative
